Let's face it, real talk, whether or not, working from home is still doing like: working.
Well, should you work from home or work from the office? It honestly comes down to the environment of your work area and the person who is with you, whether you're in your sofa or in bed, holding your laptop and phone checking for emails and call logs while checking if the baby is still asleep or not.
Working from home is the new normal of today's generation, that is why we can't do anything but to follow and be involved.
Being said that, here are the classic advantages and its benefits over the other side.
Top 5 Pros of Working From Home
1. Flexible Schedule. You can take breaks anytime and can eat lunch with your family or friends (if they visit you in your house).
2. Zero Commuting. No more hassle commuting and being with the crowd, long line of people waiting for their turn to hop into the bus or train. Hey, from bed... to bed? No judging, it's nice.
3. Comfy Clothes. You can wear anything you want or what your moods be like, from pajamas to sweat pants or just a t-shirt and shorts will do.
4. Saves Money. True! No lunch outs, commuting, buying snacks and many more.
5. More Time With Family and Loved Ones. Being there for your kid anytime he called you or when he is sick, taking care of your "Pangga" or just have a quiet time by yourself.
Top 5 Cons of Working From Home
1. Your Willpower. Your Boss is telling you to finish the report but Netflix said that there are 2 more episodes for you to watch.
2. Difficulty To Stick On A Daily Routine. Everyday is a different day, you can't say that you can accomplish this and that when the baby is crying and needs you, unlike yesterday that he is calm and quiet.
3. Irritating Noises. You have a call but the dog is barking at the stranger who pass by your house or the rooster making his mark or the hype of a motorcycle starting it's engine just outside. Aaarrrggghhh!!!
4. Power Naps. This may be a advantage but not to the extent of napping for 45 minutes or more, you have a deadline for the submission of reports.
5. Boredom. Missing your colleagues chats while having coffee breaks? How many days have you been out lately? Need a new scenery (lol).
Where ever you may be, working from home or not, it's just a matter of environment that is the difference. It does not sounds amazing or something but waking up in the morning then go ahead straight to your pc or laptop and mobile phone, check the notifications and call logs then go to the kitchen and fix some breakfast for you and your family, either way, you still have to do all your tasks and get your job done.
What is important here, as we prefer working from home or not, we must remember to never affect the quality of work we promised to our boss or client. We must stay in focus and do not be distracted by what is happening around us. We must practice time management and our flexibility in order to get our work done without compromising it's quality and the time being with our family.
This may be the best time to take this new normal trend to the next level because this will be our skill that can help us in the long run, the experience and the struggle will nourish us and prepare us for the future. It's just that you must find the right spot that you'll be most productive.
So embrace this opportunity in order to earn while in the comfort of your own home and space. Welcome change and be good at it, engage!
